FAQ

Any criteria for the stories?

Your story should be career/work related, 5 minutes long, and rooted in personal experience (i.e. something that actually happened to you).

What should my story be about?

Examples of topics include: speaking up about a bad manager, how to handle passive-aggressive coworkers, asking for favors without appearing desperate, establishing credibility when joining a new company, taking charge during crises, and more, of course.

YOU PROBABLY HAVE A TON OF STORIES, SO CHOOSING A TOPIC IS THE HARDEST PART.  THE MORE SPECIFIC THE ADVICE, THE BETTER. YOU CAN START WITH BROAD TOPIC AREAS -- LIKE NEGOTIATING, SETTING BOUNDARIES, CONFIDENCE, ETC -- AND THINK OF SPECIFIC LESSONS FROM THERE.

ANOTHER WAY TO NARROW DOWN OPTIONS IS TO THINK OF A LESSON YOU LEARNED RECENTLY, SOMETHING YOU WISHED YOU HAD HANDLED DIFFERENTLY, OR ANY TURNING POINTS/REALIZATIONS.
